Our mission is simple: bring back the kind of hiring experience where a handshake used to mean something — backed by Stripe-secured payments, identity verification, and a way to report a problem on a job that actually gets reviewed — your payment stays held until it's resolved.

Founded in Cork in 2025, WorkMate was built by a husband-and-wife team who spent years frustrated by unreliable tradespeople, cash-only payments, and no way to verify who was actually qualified. We built the marketplace we wished existed — with proper verification, payment protection, and a platform that works for Irish homeowners and honest tradespeople alike.

04 · How we protect you
Protection built into the platform, not bolted on.
Identity-verified providers
Every provider completes Stripe Connect identity verification (government-issued ID, plus a selfie match where Stripe risk checks require it) before they can receive payouts. Verification is enforced at the payment layer, not left to the honour system.
Stripe-protected payments
Your payment is held securely by Stripe and only released to the provider once you confirm the work is complete.
Report a problem before funds release
If you are not satisfied with a completed job, report a problem on the job while the payment is still held — this pauses the release. Our team reviews it and either releases the funds to the provider or refunds you.
Provider verification via Stripe
Providers are verified through Stripe Connect identity and business checks (ID, business details, and bank ownership) before they can be paid, and payments are held by WorkMate until the job is done.

WorkMate ("WorkMate", "we", "us", "our") is the trading name of Oguzhan Ada, a sole trader registered with the Companies Registration Office of Ireland under Business Name Registration No. 783488, with registered address at 31A Grand Parade, Cork, T12 K095, Ireland. WorkMate is operated from Cork, Ireland, under the jurisdiction of the Revenue Commissioners. All payments on the platform are processed by Stripe Technology Europe, Limited — a licensed payment institution authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland.
