1. Who this agreement covers
This document sets out the terms between WorkMate("we", "us") and any business or individual who lists services on our platform ("provider", "you"). It is separate from the customer-facing Terms of Service.
It has been written to meet the transparency requirements of EU Regulation 2019/1150 (Platform-to-Business) and Irish Regulations 2020. If any section conflicts with those rules, the rules prevail.
2. Commission & subscription
WorkMate is free for providers at launch: we deduct no commission from completed jobs (0% today), and paid subscriptions are not yet available. We may introduce a commission, and optional paid subscriptions that reduce commission and add features, in future. The rates and prices that would apply are published in advance on our public Pricing page and in the Platform Fee Schedule in our Terms — they are a forward-looking schedule, not a current charge.
We will not introduce or increase a commission or subscription price without giving you at least 15 days' advance notice (see section 3), in line with EU Regulation 2019/1150. When subscriptions launch, they will be billed monthly, renew automatically, and can be cancelled at any time via your provider dashboard, with cancellation taking effect at the end of the current billing period.
3. Notice period for material changes
We will give you at least 15 days advance notice before any material change to these terms, including commission rates, subscription prices, suspension rules, or data handling. Notice is sent by email and shown as a banner in your provider dashboard.
If a change disadvantages you, you may cancel your subscription before the change takes effect without penalty. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
4. How search ranking works
The order in which providers appear in customer searches is determined by review rating, response speed, and verification status. The full factor list and their relative weights are published at How Ranking Works.
Premium subscribers additionally receive featured placement at the top of each search results page. Within the Premium and non-Premium buckets the underlying ranking signals still determine order. This is a paid-influence parameter disclosed per EU P2B Regulation Art. 5(3); we do not auction individual positions or sell visibility outside the Premium tier.
5. Account suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms — for example by engaging in fraud, harassment, off-record off-platform payment solicitation to evade WorkMate (this does not include WorkMate's own Direct Payment option), or repeat no-shows. We will give you a written statement of the specific reasons, the effective date, and the path to appeal the decision.
Routine suspension (non-terminal) gives you at least 30 days to respond and rectify. Terminal suspension for serious breach may be immediate, but the written statement is always provided.
6. Your data & portability
You own your profile content, photos, and reviews you receive. We process personal and transactional data under our Privacy Policy. On request we will provide an export of your data in a machine-readable format (GDPR Art. 20).
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Aggregate anonymised statistics may be shared with partners for platform health reporting.
7. Complaints & internal dispute handling
If you are unhappy with a WorkMate decision or the platform experience, you can raise a formal complaint via the "Raise a complaint" link at the bottom of your provider dashboard, or email provider-support@workmate.ie.
We aim to acknowledge and resolve complaints as quickly as we can. Our internal complaint-handling flow is distinct from a customer reporting a problem on an individual job.
8. External mediation
If our internal complaint process does not resolve the matter, you may refer the dispute to an independent mediator. We suggest either:
- Mediators' Institute of Ireland (MII) — the professional body for mediators in Ireland. themii.ie
- Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Irish Branch (CIArb Ireland) — provides commercial dispute mediation. ciarbireland.com
Mediation is voluntary and non-binding. We will participate in good faith and share costs equally with you where the mediator's fee structure allows. Mediation is without prejudice to any legal rights.
9. Governing law & jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes that cannot be resolved through the internal or mediation steps above are subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
